Summer is the peak tourist season in Alicante. The coast fills with holidaymakers from Spain and around the world, the air temperature consistently stays above +28°C, and the sea warms to a comfortable +25–27°C. Thanks to sea breezes and the abundance of greenery in the city's parks and gardens, the heat is easy to bear. Summer rainfall is extremely rare.

June

June opens the full beach season in Alicante. The average daytime Alicante temperature in June is +28°C, dropping to a comfortable +20°C at night. The sea warms to +23°C — quite sufficient for swimming. Rainfall is virtually absent: an average of just 8 mm for the entire month. By the end of June, Postiguet Beach and San Juan Beach fill with holidaymakers, and the evening promenade Explanada de Espana comes alive with strollers.

July

July is one of the hottest months. Daytime air temperature rises to +31°C, and on some days can exceed +34°C. Nights are warm — around +23°C. The sea temperature reaches +25°C, making bathing particularly pleasant. There is virtually no rainfall — about 3 mm per month. In July, Alicante hosts the Hogueras de San Juan festival — one of the main events of the year with bonfires, fireworks, and folk festivities.

August

August is the warmest month in Alicante. Daytime temperature consistently stays at +32°C, frequently rising to +36°C. At night it's around +24°C. The sea temperature reaches its maximum — +27°C. Rainfall is minimal — about 5 mm. This is the ideal time for beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts, although beaches in August are at their busiest.

Autumn in Alicante is the velvet season, when the summer heat subsides but the sea remains warm enough for swimming. There are fewer tourists, accommodation prices drop, and the Alicante climate remains mild and pleasant. Autumn months are perfect for excursions to Santa Barbara Castle, walks through the Old Town, and exploring local cuisine.

September

September marks the start of the velvet season and is considered by many the best month to visit Alicante. Daytime temperatures reach +30°C, with warm comfortable nights around +22°C. Sea temperature stays above +25°C. Despite the high daytime figures, the heat is not oppressive thanks to a light, refreshing sea breeze. Rainfall is modest — about 20 mm, with occasional short warm showers.

October

October in Alicante remains a wonderful time for a holiday. Daytime temperatures range between +23 and +25°C, at night — around +16°C. The sea is still at least +22°C. Overcast days and rain are infrequent — about 38 mm per month. The first two weeks of October are particularly comfortable for beach holidays, though sunny weather often lasts through to the end of the month.

November

November is noticeably cooler, although by Northern European standards the weather remains warm. Daytime temperatures range from +17°C to +20°C, at night — around +11°C. The sea temperature drops to +18°C. Rainy days increase, with about 33 mm of rainfall. The beach season is over, but promenade walks and sightseeing remain perfectly comfortable.
